It took almost a month (due to Mae's hair) but Episode 2 is here! This week we talk about Batman vs. Superman, Daredevil, and who the fuck is Martha? Snave, Miner, and I are up to it again, listen and enjoy!
Holy Hk-47! Episode 1 of the wildly anticipated, charmingly uncut, and only slightly awkward first episode of our new podcast! We're all just nerds in our bedrooms here, don't expect too much.
This both amuses and annoys me. And I'm amused that both of those things, along with the cute little heart I did after I BM (bad mannered) belly bumped the spawn, didn't clue you into that fact that maybe I don't have a dangler. Because I shouldn't have to teach you that not everyone who is good or plays games is a man. But because you are slow, I'll give you a break. From now on I'll waste my time educating the less fortunate among us.
March 2nd was Dr. Seuss's birthday so we decided to make March Seuss Month at the library. Today we made some Truffula Trees to add to our display of books and stuffed animals. They were super simple and only took a few supplies; feather boas, Styrofoam balls, wooden dowels, striped washi tape, and paperclips. it was a bummer I couldn't find solid color boa, but I think they still look nice. I love doing crafts and activities with the kids, and making Truffula Trees are perfect because next week we are watching my favorite Dr. Seuss movie The Lorax.
Why is it my favorite? Because it has a grumpy environmentalist with a sick mustache. Yea, the Lorax is basically a hipster When I discovered Star Wars Reads Day a few months ago I knew I had to do something at the library. I relish any opportunity I get to celebrate Star Wars in my “real life”, and celebrating Star Wars at my day job is a dream come true. I had so much fun interacting with the kids (and their parents) and sharing my love for Star Wars with them via something I’m really passionate about…reading! Here are some of the activities I organized with pictures of how everything looked! It’s hazardous being a female gamer. Between dodging bullets or blades in game, we also have to deftly out maneuver full frontal assaults on our e-vaginas by some misguided and seriously clueless men. It doesn’t matter how many time I say, “I have a boyfriend,” there is always that one guy in the group who just can’t seem to pick up on the hints I’m dropping. This is the story of one of those poor souls… and his "nice dick".
Whether you’re a big deal, or just think you’re one, the cool kids of SWTOR never truly quit the game until they’ve done one thing… the Goodbye Post. It’s a time honored tradition of SWTOR-dom, and one last chance to get those final shots fired off before turning your back and walking away from the Yellow-Black Crystals and Cartel Market we call a game.
For me, quitting SWTOR was like going through a breakup. It really has been a four year relationship for me (since Beta testing) of time, energy, a few video cards, money, more money, some more money, and many progression days of Sore Butt Syndrome. I’ve made a Best Friend, hooked up with a few Guildmates, gone on vacation with the PvP crew, and caused a lot of drama. Oh, god. The drama I’ve caused. If you don’t like me you probably have a reason…but odds are I don’t care because you’re boring, a sheep, or simply a BAD player who takes offense when I complain about Casuals.
But like all relationships until you find THE ONE, you go through a lot of duds. And sure, most of those duds were REALLY great when you first started hanging out. But inevitably, once everyone is a little more comfortable in the relationship and time has gone by, things start to change. The little things that we used to laugh about aren’t funny anymore. We start saying things we don’t mean and spending less and less time together. No baby, it’s just a trial account on that other game, it doesn’t MEAN anything. A million complaints about PvP, Class Balance, PvE, Dev communication, bugs, and transparency aside…SWTOR just no longer the same game it was. The direction SWTOR is moving in and has moved in the last year just doesn’t jive with what I’m looking for in my primary video game. For almost a year now I’ve searched to re-find my place in the game and what we mean to each other, and in that search I realized SWTOR doesn’t care about me at all.
