It was a uber mega week of Galactic Strongholds hype, and I was drinking the kool aid and back on the bandwagon with everyone else. Are you not excited? I’m pretty excited. I was really upset when they pushed back when we would be able to get our hands on GSH (which should have been already) and have been hoping for the Devs to really deliver. Which I think they have. As most of you already know, I have a flair for the dramatic. You better believe I have plans for this housing thing. So, in case you were living under a rock or in the real world, the GSH info overfloweth this week. They’ve been hinting at it for weeks now, teasing us with “soon”, and after last week’s stream we were crestfallen when there was no new video dropped at the end. But soon was true, and this week blossomed new with the announcement of the new Strongholds Series on Twitch. Then Wednesday dawned and we got the blog by Jesse Sky, Lead Designer and the Tattoine Homestead Teaser Video. The first of the stream series was amazing. Getting to see how we would be able to decorate is something that a lot of people have been wondering about. The hook system seems to be easy and allow for tons of customization options. Each hook size has decorations tied to them, and you chose what you want. You can change the layout of hook arrangement and also edit your decorations on hooks along an -x and -y axis, and rotate them. There are hooks of every size and even some on the ceiling. The Dread Council chandelier would look great if you’re going for that whole “Sith look”. The giant Landing Pad hook was really cool also and you know I’m going to have to unlock that Sandcrawler. It was neat seeing some of the decorations we will be able to unlock. With all my TFB time I better already have that portal and I may actually have to get all those datacrons for that reward. The jumping…mrrr… As well as achievements, decorations can unlocked through in game content drops like flashpoints and operations, reputation vendors, the Cartel Market (duh), and even as crafting rewards. The latter bringing some much needed oomph to a lackluster aspect of the game (I’m looking forward to actually doing crew skills on my sorc again). My favorite part of the stream was the additional rooms of the stronghold. I loved the little repair shop themed room and that got me thinking of all kinds of things I want to try. Recreating iconic Star Wars themes anyone? I also can’t wait to deck out a whole room in those multi-colored wall tile lights. And hopefully I can cover the walls of another room with all my pets like psuedo taxidermy. I can picture the taunlets in my head. Creepy, I know. I'm going for a Ravey, Private Sex Club feel with my Stronghold. It will be open for visitors as well, so stop by. What happens in Nar Shadaa, stays in Nar Shadaa.
